SST Tube

SST Tubes also known as Gel Clot Activator Tubes, are used for serum separation in clinical laboratory testing. These tubes contain a clot activator and an inert gel barrier that separates serum from blood cells during centrifugation.

Usage
  • Used for: Serum separation and biochemical, immunological, and serological testing
  • Application: Liver function tests (LFT), kidney function tests (RFT), thyroid panel (TFT), lipid profile, CRP, hormone levels, electrolytes
  • Ideal for: Diagnostic labs, hospitals, pathology labs, health check-up packages
  • Gently invert the tube 5–8 times to mix the clot activator with blood..
  • Allow the blood to clot at room temperature for 20–30 minutes
  • Centrifuge the tube at 3000–3500 rpm for 10–15 minutes.
  • After centrifugation, the gel barrier separates serum from blood cells for testing.
  • Follow standard biosafety and disposal protocols post-use.

Note: Overfilling or underfilling may affect test accuracy.
